Hi space travellers! It has been very quiet for a year or so here, but things are starting to bubble along….there is a new album on the way for 2018, titled “Monkey business”. Lots of real winners on this one, it has a great mutant funk flavour to groove to. We’ll be releasing a stack of singles straight after New Year’s Day as a treat.

Keep watching!

November 1st, 2016:

Things have been a bit quiet round here , but the guys are busy stirring things up again with another bunch of weird songs. Watch out for our latest single “You think you’re funny”, coming very soon. Should be a real bunch of laughs, I guarantee!

AND HERE IT IS FOLKS—the release of our latest album!!!!!:

Tales from beyond the Stratosphere

“Tales from beyond the Stratosphere” is the

latest album release for Warning Will Robinson.

A progressive, eclectic collection of songs and

stories from around the cosmos, this is the fourth

album in as many years for the local Tasmanian

band-about-space. Covering as many genres as

there are exoplanets, the album guarantees to

offer something for everyone.

Featuring a galaxy of special guest artists, such as

legendary jazz saxophonist Spike Mason, popular

bluegrass virtuoso Ross Sermons, with renowned

controversial UFOlogist Mike Campbell, the extra

collaboration has given different sounds and new

inspiration to the band. From Prog-rock electro to

low-brow Psychobilly, Funk to Ambient Electronic Soundscape, and all the way back to Spaghetti Western, this album is an epic journey.

Eighteen months in the making, it promises to be the Underground Album of the Year. Why not decide for yourself – grab the nearest inanimate object you can find, sit down, relax - and absorb!

May 25th, 2015:

And now, for the next single release “Oort Cloud, baby!”:

https://youtu.be/6W4E9UQXeEM

A song about a beautiful secret place to escape from all the

annoying people in space; a quiet holiday destination past

the edges of our solar system.

Space Contiki guests need not apply.

Enjoy!

May 5th, 2015:

Here is the next single release “I can see Uranus from here”:

https://youtu.be/DO6Wa63QyLg

An evening BBQ stargazing party is shocked to discover

what they see through their telescope after it gets bumped

by a small dog - and points at the neighbour's bedroom window.

Hope you enjoy!

April 20th, 2015:

Here is our latest single release “Schrodinger’s cat”:

http://youtu.be/QrGaqc_hBGg

The song is an electro-prog rock journey through the

discussion of quantum mechanics and its implications on

domestic pets. Hope you enjoy!

April 9th, 2015:

Get prepared for our latest single release “They’re already here”.

A spooky combination of an alien abduction and a

spaghetti western sound track, you’re going to be hunted down

by the CIA just for listening to this. Be warned!!

March 23rd, 2015:

Hi everyone! It’s been quite a while since we’ve said anything but we’ve been really busy in the studio working hard to get this new album out. It’s taken a lot longer than we expected but all the songs are done now. They needed quite a bit of hammering out to make them just how we wanted—this is definitely a different album to anything we’ve done before. A couple of Loooong songs in this one (over 7 mins for one!), some really bizarre ones, too! And we’ve just finished a video clip for this one, our latest single called “Element 123”:

February 3rd 2014:

We just performed at the Café Subterranea on Saturday nite to an amazing crowd - they loved us! Elmer had just had an overhaul and a facelift, and he was at his wicked best. There were three bands - ourselves opening the night, then Heart Beach headlining the night with their cool underground atmospherics and stories, and Spike Mason’s Jazz trio to finish off the night with some great sounding mellow vibes. Very, very excellent night. You can check out the photos here:

October 31st 2013:

Hi all!

We’ve had a quiet time over the last few months, but not really - we’re working on a new album! A couple of songs are about to be released soon as pre-release singles for the forthcoming album, so watch out for them over the next few weeks.

The first song is a very different style to our previous works - “ambient grunge noise” perhaps??

And of course, the Professor and Dr Smith can’t keep away from making silly songs, so there’s one funky pop nonsense song coming soon, too. Keep your eyes peeled for us!

May 6th 2013:

Our new EP Back to basics is now released - Yay!!

It’s free to download, or you can buy a hard copy CD from us with all the nice artwork and stuff. You can buy CD copies from here

CD copies are $12 including postage.

April 23rd 2013:

We’ve been hearing lots of  “The Arrowboys” being played on EDGE radio!! We should get our songs played tonight on their Tasmanian bands segment “Tasmusica”.

Listen in tonight between 8pm-10pm to hear us.

Our CD Back to basics will be available for sale next week! You can buy copies from here

April 17th 2013:

And again—another new single released!

Our next single Back to basics is the title track to our forthcoming EP Back to basics .

The song is about dissatisfaction with the trappings of the hi-tech world and everything we use to make our life “better”. Is it really making our life better, or just causing more stress than it actually alleviates? The new EP Back to basics is due to arrive around mid April, the CD artwork is finished and being delivered as I speak! Keep an eye for it here!

In other news - the two singles released - “The Arrowboys” and “Turbo Girl (New Wave version)” are on the EDGE radio playlist, and we heard “The Arrowboys” in prime time drive time morning radio:

http://www.edgeradio.org.au/music/tasmanian-music/

We’re famous again!

April 5th 2013:

Another new single released!

Our next single “Turbo Girl (New Wave version)” off our new EP Back to basics has been released!! A song about cars, cars and cars. This version of Turbo Girl is rough, noisy and fast! The new EP Back to basics is due to arrive at the end of April now, we’re just getting the artwork sorted. Stay tuned!

February 27th 2013:

New single released!

The Arrowboys” off our new EP Back to basics has been released!! The EP is due to arrive at the end of March, so we’re releasing “The Arrowboys”  as a tasty entrée before the EP comes out. This new album is a hark back to the band’s simple early New Wave days in 1981 and is a musical rebellion from the band’s typical electronic sound found on the previous two albums. It is characterized by a simple energy-fuelled guitar/bass/drum wall of noise sound, and fast paced pounding beats and smashing cymbals. Enjoy The Arrowboys”!!

January 14th 2013:

Happy New Year Earthlings! Hope you had a great time. I’m in the USA at the moment  having a cool holiday (literally) - lots of great things here! Be back home next week.

2012 was a great year for us - a new album out, getting lots of airplay on EDGE radio, lots of exposure, and great Performance Space gig for the Professor’s birthday!

The Professor and Doctor Smith tell me they went out last Saturday nite to see a really cool lo-fi micro-pop outfit called Kikuyu - aka Sez Wilks. They were greatly inspired with her minimalist original songs, smooth vocals, using the sort of keyboards and gadgets the Professor has lying around the studio. You watch the Professor hit Ebay now in search of strange bits and pieces to try out in some future song. A really great night, they said - I think they even have plans to get her down to Tassie again to do a gig in the Nuclear Technologies’ Performance Space sometime. Cool!

The guys have been working on songs for our new EP Back to basics . It will be interesting to see how the guys move from all this electronic gear back to acoustic instruments for this album - can’t wait to get back and join in, looks like I’ll be doing lots of bass and some main vocals again, too! I hear that Elmer isn’t so happy about it though - I expect the complaints to roll in thick and fast :D

December 17th 2012:

Since the release of our new album “Leisure through Technology”, we have been working on a new album - a 5-song EP to be released early in the new year, called “Back to basics”. It will be a complete contrast to anything we’ve done yet, so keep your ears peeled!

October 21st 2012:

The Professor just had his birthday yesterday by celebrating with a performance party at Nuclear Technologies Studios, our record label. The entertainment consisted of 4 bands, including ourselves, with a Steampunk fancy-dress theme. Totally awesome! Happy Birthday Professor!!!

August 8th 2012:

Our new album “Leisure through Technology” has just been released! Featuring some singles previously released in advance, plus a whole bunch of new gems. The album is a concept album examining the way technology impacts on our society, both in good and bad ways. I even sing main vocals on a few songs!

We did an interview for EDGE radio, which aired last Wednesday at 1pm.

You can download it here!

June 25th 2012:

We’ve just released our next single ”Brown note apparatus” from the forthcoming album!

June 7th 2012:

Our new album “Leisure through Technology” is due for release next month. We’re doing tidy-ups of the songs and finishing off a few loose ends and it will be finished! This has been a great album to record - and you get to hear me singing a bit more! Lots of new sounds and styles in this album, different to our last one.

We’ve also just released our next single ”Standing on Ruins (of our present civilization)” from the forthcoming album and had it played on EDGE radio in their “Tasmusica” hour on Tuesday night this week!! I’m singing this one, so I’ll be looking to see what people think of the band with this new sound!

March 14th 2012:

We’re working on 3 new songs - all very different! One is the title track to our new album that will be released in a few months - “Leisure through Technology” - a real retro rockin’ number. The Professor also has another quaint song he’s working on, and Dr Smith has a spooky conspiracy song he’s looking into. A busy time writing for us all!

Feb 24th 2012:

We’ve just released our new single -  “Washing Machine” - yay!! The “B-side song also released with it is called “Telephone voices”. “Washing Machine” will be played on EDGE radio tomorrow!  You can download it here for free!! Enjoy!

Feb 9th 2012:

Started recording our new single! A bizarre appliance based song from the Professor. We’re planning to release it by the end of February and get it played on EDGE radio. Stay tuned!
